Damaged or Short Merchandise
Extreme care should be exercised by anyone receiving merchandise from a common carrier. The transportation industry takes a very firm stand on freight claims.
Listed below are several items, which you should be aware of concerning the transportation of goods:
1. When goods are shipped, ChairCo receives a signed bill of lading acknowledging that the transportation company received the shipment in good condition. CHAIRCO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SHIPMENT HAS NOW CEASED. The shipment should be thoroughly inspected for visible damage to the shipping container as soon as it is received.
2. If any of the goods on the freight bill are short or damaged, DO NOT SIGN THE FREIGHT BILL UNTIL THE FREIGHT AGENT (DRIVER) MAKES A NOTATION ON YOUR COPY OF THE FREIGHT BILL.
3. If any concealed damage is discovered, notify your freight agent at once and request them to make an inspection. YOU MAY DO THIS BY TELEPHONE, BUT IT MUST BE CONFIRMED IN WRITING AND IT MUST BE DONE WITHIN 5 DAYS OF DELIVERY. The damaged shipping container must also be retained for the inspector.
4. ChairCo is willing to assist you in collecting claims for loss of damage, but this willingness does not make ChairCo responsible for the collection of claims or replacement of this material.
5. CHAIRCO WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HELP YOU WHEN YOU GIVE ANY CARRIERS OR TRANSFER AGENT A CLEAR RECEIPT.
Warranty
Chairs, barstools and tables are not to be used as foot stools or ladders and should only be used for sitting. Table dancing should be avoided. All products manufactured for ChairCo are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship when properly installed and maintained as the factory recommends and specifies. Our ladderback and schoolhouse chairs are guaranteed for life. Hardwood bar stools are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship when properly assembled or installed and maintained as the factory recommends and specifies. All other products are warranted for 1 year from the date merchandise ships from the factory. This warranty excludes all products or component parts that have been subject to neglect, misuse, alteration, accidental or improper installation. Buyer assumes responsibility for normal wear and tear. All upholstery, whether fabric or vinyl, will be warranted as governed solely by the guarantee or warranty of the producing mill.
Maintenance of our products:
To ensure many years to satisfaction with your ChairCo product, you should routinely inspect such parts as swivels, welds, glides, bolts, etc. If a part is found to be defective, contact ChairCo for authorized replacement parts.
ChairCo requires that you perform the following maintenance in order to keep your furniture under warranty. Check and tighten all screws and/or bolts every sixty (60) to ninety (90) days or whenever loose. Examine all glue joints and other stress points. A loose joint will transfer all forces on the other joints of the chair or barstool which will also loosen with the possibility of the chair or barstool collapsing. Any item that shows evidence of being unstable or unsafe should be removed from service immediately. Any continued use of a defective product is at the buyer's risk and ChairCo or its manufacturers assume no liability.
The following is a general care and maintenance guide:
Wood Finish: For cleaning wood products we suggest using Lemon Oil. Lemon Oil moisturizes and preserves wood finishes without wax build-up while toning down scratches and blemishes. Do not use abrasive household solvents. Water spills on the surface should be wiped off immediately.
Metal Finish: Wipe with a damp cloth. To remove dirt, brush the surface with a soft bristle brush. For stubborn stains and grease marks, use soap and water.
Vinyl Upholstery: Use a liquid detergent suitable for cleaning vinyl. After cleaning, wipe the surface with a cloth dampened with warm water.
Laminate: To remove stains, wipe surface with a damp cloth using soap or liquid detergent. Remove stubborn stains with a damp paste of baking soda. Leave on for a minute, then blot away. Abrasive cleaners should be wiped off immediately, then rinsed with water.
